Privacy Policy

CyberdyneLabs operates cyberdynelabs.org and the ADAM chat interface at /adam-chat. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We run our own infrastructure and do not sell data. Plain-language summary first, detail below.

Short version. We collect only what an account and a rate-limited free tier need. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id and never stored in plain text. We use one essential session cookie and Cloudflare's security cookie — no advertising or analytics trackers. We don't sell or rent your data. You can delete your account yourself at any time.

1. Who we are

CyberdyneLabs is an independent AI research and engineering effort. For any privacy request, contact [email protected]. We are the data controller for the information described here.

We do not collect payment details on this site (paid tiers are not yet publicly open), and we do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

3. Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies only. See the full Cookie Notice. In short: one signed, HTTP-only session cookie for logged-in users, plus Cloudflare's bot-management cookie. No advertising, cross-site tracking, or analytics cookies — so no consent banner is required.

4. How we use your data

Provide and secure your account and the ADAM interface.
Enforce the free-tier quota (a small number of queries per IP per 24 hours).
Detect and block abuse, brute-force, and scanning attempts.
Improve ADAM's behaviour. Where we learn from usage, we work with aggregated or de-identified signals wherever practical.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share data only with:

Cloudflare — CDN, TLS, and security/bot-management in front of the site (a data processor; edge logs and a security cookie).
Legal requirements — only if compelled by valid legal process.

Everything else — accounts, prompts, logs — is stored on infrastructure we operate ourselves.

6. Retention

Account data — kept while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile; residual copies in backups age out on the backup rotation.
Server access logs — rotated on a short cycle (on the order of two weeks) and then discarded.
Waitlist entries — kept until access is granted or you ask us to remove them.

7. Your rights

You can:

Access / correct your account data from the account settings in /adam-chat, or by emailing us.
Delete your account yourself via the delete-account option in settings, or ask us to do it.
Change your password at any time in settings.
Ask questions or file a complaint by emailing [email protected].

Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights (e.g. under GDPR/UK GDPR or CCPA). We honour verified requests regardless of jurisdiction.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Traffic is served over TLS with HSTS. The site sits behind Cloudflare with rate limiting and automated banning of scanning/brute-force sources. No system is perfectly secure, but we design conservatively and store as little as we can.

9. Children

The service is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date at the top. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
